December Meal Plan: Week 1
How is it December?! I feel like I start about every meal plan with a statement questioning how time is going so fast, but it really is! The last meal plan I made was back at the end of October. Since then, I have still been meal planning, I just haven’t posted them. A lot of the recipes were all redos anyways, so I didn’t figure there was anything new.
However, a couple of weeks ago I did an inventory of all the food we had in our fridge and freezers and I have been trying to clean them out! The first week or two was pretty easy, but with less ingredients, I have had to get a little more creative and try some new recipes. So, this week is going to be a little more interesting!
I had never done a full food inventory before, but now I highly suggest it. It really gives you a starting place with meal planning, and it helps keep shopping a little cheaper. I am also not doing inventory every week, because I still know most of what I have and what I need to use up first. Let me know in the comments below if you have any tips on keeping a food inventory, but for now, let’s get into this weeks meals!
This Week’s Meals
Frozen Pizza – The middle schoolers have an away game Monday night and I will be gone coaching. So, it’s up to Dad to take care of supper and I like to make it easy on him. 🙂
Sausage and Potato Casserole – I think I’ve had a bag of hash browns in the freezer for about a year now… We will find out if they are still good!
Teriyaki Beef over Rice – This will be a little more creative than the recipe calls for because I have part of a pork steak and part of a sirloin steak that needs used up. It’ll still taste good… right??
Couscous Chicken Soup – I am excited for this meal because I love soups and I have found couscous to be delicious as well!
Cheeseburger Macaroni – A quick and easy meal for Friday night!
Leftovers – Because we will not eat all this food each night. I always need to plan a catch up night.
Pork Roast and Potatoes – I’ve had beef roast before but never pork roast. This is a crockpot recipe too, and I am game for an easy meal.
