Using the Leftovers Meal Plan

You know what one of the most annoying parts of cooking is? — Going to the grocery store! Who’s with me?! You have to fight the crowds (especially on Sunday) and then you end up spending more money than you want to.

So this week I decided that I did NOT want to go to the grocery store. I was NOT going to haul my kids in and I was NOT try to keep them contained to the cart. Nope. Nope. And NOPE. So, I went through my cabinets and looked at EVERYTHING I had before I started meal planning. This way, I only planned meals that include the ingredients I already have. Of course, I will need to run to the store for a gallon or two of milk tomorrow but that will be a much easier trip! 🙂

Pepperoni Pizza Quesadillas – Our fridge is always stocked with burrito shells and we have a package of pepperoni that seems to be lasting forever so let’s use them up!

1 Pan Pork Chops with Apples and Onions – You’ve seen how I’ve been using up apples to make Caramel Apple Cake and Apple Butter, but this is one of my favorite savory apple recipes!

Chicken Tetrazzini – A cheesy, chicken pasta that is loved by everyone in our home!

Ham and Potato Soup – I have some ham in the freezer from who knows when, so I think it is about time we use it up! The high on Thursday is also only 56Ëš so it’ll be the perfect soup day!

Freddy’s Pizza – It’s Mia’s birthday! We will celebrate by mom not having to cook and head to the local pizza place.

Our big 3 year old! Yes, 3!

Mac and Cheese – Probably the boxed kind because mom will be out of town with coworkers.

Grilled Cheese – Because it’s Sunday and chances are we have leftovers to use up. If not, we will make it easy with grilled cheese! Maybe some tomato soup too if the garden isn’t frozen over yet.

I hope you have a great week ahead of you! We will definitely be getting chillier weather this week and I am so glad I have found a great place to stock up on the kids’ clothes for winter! Make sure you check out my review along with some of my other toddler tip posts! Have a great day!
