Graco Ready2Grow Double Stroller Review

Yay for nicer weather! We are finally getting out of the house and exploring the world around us. For us that means getting out and going on walks! Our town is small enough that we can walk to the grocery store, the park, and even work if I really needed to! It is also about the only exercise I get in as a mom. However, with two kids in tow, that means we need a sturdy stroller that gets us from place to place. Actually, with 2 littles, that means a double stroller!

I tried to get away without buying a double stroller last summer. I LOVED our jogging stroller that I always used with Mia, but I needed a way to get out of the house and with Wyatt being so little, I didn’t have many options. The bike trailer and little red wagon were out of the question. I started shopping and couldn’t find a used stroller I liked, so I ended up purchasing the Graco Ready2Grow Double Stroller new and I love it! Here’s why:

Pros:

  • It’s narrow, making it easy to navigate crowds (like at the zoo). I couldn’t imagine doing the zoo with a double wide!

  • Many different seating options. It is advertised to have 12 different seating combinations and we have probably used 5 or 6 of them. I love how versatile it is.
  • It has the sit and stand option with a bench seat in the back. This is the main reason I purchased this stroller! Mia can hop in and out when she gets bigger and wants to go from walking to riding and back to walking.
  • It is shorter in length than the average double stroller.
  • Color isn’t too difficult to keep clean.
  • Basket is reasonably large and still can hold my groceries when we walk to the store. It holds all our library books when we go to the library.
  • Easy to fold up and change out seating positions.
  • Infant seat fits in well. It is compatible with my click connect system.
  • Reasonably priced on Amazon compared with other double strollers. (It was only about $145 when I purchased it.)
  • Wheel locks and breaks work well. I have not attempted too much rough terrain with this stroller.
So excited to go walking!!

Cons:

  • The handle bar is too short and I sometimes find myself kicking the standing platform when walking quickly.
  • The adult cupholder is accessible to the child sitting in the back of the stroller. I can’t put my phone there or Wyatt will grab it! A closable compartment would be nice; like the one on my jogging stroller.
  • While the stroller is smaller for a double stroller, it still takes up a lot of room. We have to take the sunshades and child snack bar off to fit it into our car. Luckily those modifications are easy to make in a few seconds.
  • The strap pads that are included fall off and are easily lost. We don’t have them anymore.
You can see that Mia can reach the cupholders here. So can Wyatt. Mia just doesn’t care to as much, luckily!

Other Walking Tips

  • Put the heavier child in the back. It makes steering and going over bumps easier.
  • Attach your Fitbit (or other activity tracker) to your ankle to monitor your steps. They seem to miss so many when on your wrist pushing a stroller! Need a large band? This one fits my wrist and ankle easily!
  • If you take toys with you, take noisy ones that are easy to hear when they hit the ground (or attach to the stroller somehow!). We have lost a stuffed animal before on one of our walks. 🙁
  • Bring snacks and water if planning on being gone for awhile. Take toddlers potty before walking!

We hope you have a fun summer ahead of you full of exploring outside! We will be getting out as much as possible (probably with our Graco Ready2Grow stroller!). Hopefully we will see you out there!
