How to Make Snow Ice Cream

With all this white stuff from the sky making more work on the farm, we have to find a way to enjoy it a little bit. So it was time to show the kids how to make snow ice cream! My oldest can’t stop eating snow when she’s outside anyways, but I prefer mine a little creamier.

Ingredients

  • Big Bowl of Snow – think popcorn bowl sized
  • 3/4c white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 2 cups whole milk – (any will do, but whole milk makes it creamier. Find out why here!)

Instructions

  • Collect snow in your popcorn bowl. Clean snow (of course). Fluffier snow works better than the slushy stuff. Make sure to leave more room at the top of the bowl than we did for stirring!

  • Sprinkle sugar and vanilla on top of snow.
  • Pour in one cup of milk and start to stir. Add in the 2nd cup of milk slowly, stopping when you get to your desired consistency.
  • If you have too much snow, pour the milk right in the middle and mix the snow in from the outside until the inside is the preferred consistency.
  • I like to start with my snow ice cream on the stiffer side because it gets slushy quickly as it begins to melt. It all depends how fast you eat it!

Enjoy! Have you tried this quick and easy snow day treat?! Comment below!
